TSR Australia bounced back to their best, claiming victory in the final round of the inaugural Slideways Go Karting World Enduro Series, in the process taking out the title with a dominant performance.

After winning the opening two rounds of the series, TSR didn’t have things all their own way, with title challengers Global Action Photography fast as always, with new outfit Heffo Clift Racing a surprise package.

The combination of car circuit racers Ashley Heffernan, Madeline Spence and Daniel Clift sat on the pole position by virtue of Heffernan’s 43.345sec lap in qualifying, with the combination putting in a strong performance to finish second on the day.

After starting from grid three, Global Action Photography’s race unravelled with a tardy first pit stop, that cost the combination approximately 25 seconds.

At the chquered flag, the team were 32 seconds behind the race winners, but the points haul saw them secure second overall in the series pointscore.

However, with TSR fielding a young gun squad of drivers under the age of 18, Global Action Photography will represent Slideways Go Karting World at the Pepsi Max National Hire Kart Challenge in Sydney at the start of December.

As a part of the package, the team will go up against the best hire kart racers in Australia, and attend the final ever Supercars race on the streets of Sydney Olympic Park, with flights, transfers and accommodation included in the package.

TSR are also expected to field a team in the Sydney event.

Starting fourth and finishing fourth for the day were first time starters at Slideways, Profile Autosports, who led home four karts one lap adrift of the leading trio after 65 minutes of hot, hard racing.

Fifth place went to 3 Stooges, who improved impressively throughout the series, and amassed enough points to finish third in the season point score.

For their efforts, all drivers in the team were awarded a VIP Gold Pass, valued at $100 each.

Fresh from representing Australia in the GT Academy International Finals at Silverstone, Keishi Ayukai returned to competition, and showed his best form to date, leading the GT Academy team away within the lead pack.

Local Gemini Series competitor Arren Heeley took the second stint, with experienced dirt kart racer Brynn Stewart bringing the team home in sixth.

Another new squad, 3 Amigos, didn’t look out of place, finishing seventh, ahead of Multi 21, The Muppets, with the fourth first time outfit 1 Hunnid rounding out the finishers.

The fastest lap of the race went to pole sitter Heffernan, who set a best time of 42.648sec, with the fastest lap of the quickest five karts in the field split by only 0.183sec, once again showing the parity of the karts.

Outside of the top three in the point standings were Heffo Clift Racing following their effort in the quadruple points finale, then GT Academy, The Muppets, Profile Autosports, Multi 21, Rogue Racing, and early stand outs Oz Jap Performance rounding out the top-ten, with a total of 24 teams making an appearance during the season.

The Slideways Go Karting World Enduro Series is set to return next year with a 10 round series between February and November, with one further endurance race to be schedule for next month.

Stay tuned to the Slideways websites and social media channels for all of the latest updates.
